RealHyFc: Advancing PEMFC technology for heavy-duty applications

🌱 Exciting news in clean energy ! 🌱 🇪🇺 Introducing RealHyFC, a cutting-edge European project supported by Clean Hydrogen Partnership set to transform the landscape of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC) in heavy-duty (HD) applications. Focused on land transport initially, impact of RealHyFC outcomes will be eventually extended to ships, trains, and aircraft. Addressing crucial challenges in PEMFC adoption RealHyFC brings together key players across the fuel cells value chain to tackle critical hurdles hindering rapid adoption. The primary challenges lie in ensuring the reliability and versatility of fuel cell.

RealHyFC's key objectives: optimizing the design and operation of fuel cells

Our project centers on two core objectives: optimizing fuel cells design and enhancing fuel cells operation. Diagnostics and monitoring are crucial for long-lasting fuel cells operation, and RealHyFC is poised to provide invaluable insights at both design and operation levels.

RealHyFC comprises nine public and private partners, including CEA, Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), Dynergie, AVL, German Aerospace Center (DLR), IRD Fuel Cells A/S, UMI, University of Ljubljana, and PowerCellGroup. Together, we form a robust team with expertise spanning the entire PEMFC value chain.
